Sales Associate

Job Summary

Utilizes knowledge and skills gained through experience or training to provide high energy customer support creating a meaningful, customer experience. The Sales Associate will maintain high product knowledge to answer customers’ questions and direct them to the right products. The position of Sales Associate is a part-time position that reports to the franchise owner or manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. High energy customer experience is the #1 priority.
  2. Follows the best practices of the Person in Charge of the Customer experience.
  3. Wears the logo name badge and logo apparel while working on the sales floor.
  4. Ask relevant questions to help direct customers to the right products.
  5. Assist customers by responding to their inquiries and providing in-depth product knowledge.
  6. Inform customers about current product or service promotions.
  7. Keep the sales floor, cashier's area, and backroom tidy and well-organized.
  8. Ensure accurate product tag and label pricing, marking down merchandise when necessary.
  9. Understand and monitor optimal inventory levels, restocking products when needed and where available.
  10. Completes any other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of
    1. Product Information Handbook and successful completion the Certified Bird feeding Specialist Program.
    2. Each OWL module as part of the High Energy Training in order to deliver the WBU high energy customer experience as the trusted local expert.
    3. Store’s merchandise to target appropriate products to the customer.
    4. The Employee Handbook, including the WBU Ten Touch Points training and adheres to both.
  2. Skill in
    1. Completion, accuracy and legible paperwork.
    2. Processing customer payments and issuing receipts using cash registers, maintaining service standards and following all privacy regulations.
  3. Ability to
    1. Provide courteous, timely service when addressing customer questions and concerns, while demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor.
    2. Speak clearly and concisely.
    3. Complete changing of displays, signing and restocking of merchandise as directed by management.
    4. Attend store meetings as required.
    5. Adhere to all store policies and procedures regarding the ringing of all transactions, any administrative duties and scheduling.
    6. Adhere to all store policies and procedures regarding personal and store security.
    7. Communicate security concerns to management.
    8. Work independently with minimal supervision.
    9. Lift to 50lbs
    10. Maintain good housekeeping standards to help present a clean and well- presented store.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Previous experience in customer-facing roles
  3. Basic understanding of sales tactics and customer service best practices
  4. A demonstrated history of consistently achieving sales goals
