Sales Associate
Job Summary
Utilizes knowledge and skills gained through experience or training to provide high energy customer support creating a meaningful, customer experience. The Sales Associate will maintain high product knowledge to answer customers’ questions and direct them to the right products. The position of Sales Associate is a part-time position that reports to the franchise owner or manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- High energy customer experience is the #1 priority.
- Follows the best practices of the Person in Charge of the Customer experience.
- Wears the logo name badge and logo apparel while working on the sales floor.
- Ask relevant questions to help direct customers to the right products.
- Assist customers by responding to their inquiries and providing in-depth product knowledge.
- Inform customers about current product or service promotions.
- Keep the sales floor, cashier's area, and backroom tidy and well-organized.
- Ensure accurate product tag and label pricing, marking down merchandise when necessary.
- Understand and monitor optimal inventory levels, restocking products when needed and where available.
- Completes any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
- Product Information Handbook and successful completion the Certified Bird feeding Specialist Program.
- Each OWL module as part of the High Energy Training in order to deliver the WBU high energy customer experience as the trusted local expert.
- Store’s merchandise to target appropriate products to the customer.
- The Employee Handbook, including the WBU Ten Touch Points training and adheres to both.
Skill in
- Completion, accuracy and legible paperwork.
- Processing customer payments and issuing receipts using cash registers, maintaining service standards and following all privacy regulations.
Ability to
- Provide courteous, timely service when addressing customer questions and concerns, while demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic, and professional demeanor.
- Speak clearly and concisely.
- Complete changing of displays, signing and restocking of merchandise as directed by management.
- Attend store meetings as required.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures regarding the ringing of all transactions, any administrative duties and scheduling.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures regarding personal and store security.
- Communicate security concerns to management.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Lift to 50lbs
- Maintain good housekeeping standards to help present a clean and well- presented store.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles
- Basic understanding of sales tactics and customer service best practices
- A demonstrated history of consistently achieving sales goals
Travel
- No Travel Required
